About Me
After graduation, I attended the University of New Hampshire, Durham.
I entered as a Geology major and left with a B.A. in Humanities.
(My senior thesis was a comparison of literary conventions between
two Soviet-era science-fiction novels.)
The one thing about degree in Humanities is that you are destined to
attend graduate school. (Unless you can find work in a Humanities factory)
After interning at the Manchester Historic Association for 6 months,
I worked as a subsitute teacher for a few years. I entered the Education
program at UNH-Manchester, and I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching
(English and ESOL) in 2004. My Masters' Thesis was an examition of the
application of Japanese-style classroom management paradigm in the American
ESOL classroom.
For my student teaching, I actually was a member of faculty at CHS!
Yes, I taught one year at our beloved alma mater. I taught sophmore-level
English with Mrs. Hicks, Mythology with Ms. Naccach-Hoff, and 10th grade
ESL with Ms. Mayette.
In October of 2004, I relocated to Bangkok, Thailand, where I now teach
10th grade EFL Grammar and Composition at a private Catholic school.
I look forward to teaching for a few years and then persuing my Doctorate
in Education with a focus on the application of Neuroscience in Pedagogy.
I have become recently engaged. (However, it's not official until I
perform the "Bpaigrappormae" ceremony on Aug. 12th) My fiancee
is a lovely soon-to-be hotel chef, by the name of Lumyai...but like
most Thai people, she perfers that you call her by her nickname: "Eet."
